Kansas City Vacation May 2012 (Part 1)

Every Memorial Day weekend there's a family music festival in Kansas City -- Jiggle Jam.  Jiggle Jam is held at Crown Center on Saturday and Sunday of the weekend.  We went for the first time in 2012. It was our first real vacation with the girls.  To say that they had a fun weekend would be an understatement!

We went up Friday morning. We started out by going to Burger King for breakfast and to let the girls play in the climbing structure before the car ride.  I think playing there was one of the highlights of their trip -- and we hadn't even left town yet! The structure is huge, with several levels.
The girls had trouble -- they'd look down at us and say they can't find the top of the slide.
Then they'd get so excited when they'd find it and slide down!

It wore them out sufficiently for a peaceful drive to Kansas City!

We stayed at the Westin Hotel at Crown Center.  They have a discounted rate for Jiggle Jam guests.  The Westin is attached to the mall, which made it easy to go to Jiggle Jam, eat, go shopping and easily go back to the room in between for some down time.  The girls LOVED sleeping in a "big bed", too.

The Crayola Store had a lot of hands-on displays for the kids.  The store was full of things to see.  The girls loved it!

A bakery in the mall had the biggest cinnamon roll I'd ever seen!

We ate at the Crayola Cafe.  The girls of course got to color several pictures while we waited.

Kayla insisted she wanted to try the lemon from our iced tea.  She didn't like it.

The cafe was very definitely geared for kids -- the PB&J even came without crusts!

The girls loved their crayon cups, so we took them with us back to the room. The elevators were fun, too! Although very crowded.  The hotel was full of families there for Jiggle Jam.

Friday was a big day for them.  Saturday was even more exciting -- because Jiggle Jam Started!
